Neurology Solutions is a concierge neurology practice in Austin, Texas. We are known for our leadership in Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders — and we bring that same neurological expertise to a proactive purpose: helping you protect your brain, your metabolism, and your independence as you age. Brain health is not a wellness trend to us. It is neurology, applied early.
You do not need a diagnosis to begin. Whether you have a family history of dementia or Parkinson’s, have noticed subtle changes in memory or focus, want to address metabolic health before it affects your brain, or simply intend to stay sharp and independent for decades, this is where that work starts — with a physician who understands the nervous system.
Why a neurologist? Because the difference between healthy aging and early disease is a clinical judgment — and that judgment is what we do every day.
A Neurologist’s Approach to Brain Health
Most “brain health” and longevity care is delivered outside of medicine — by wellness clinics, coaches, and programs built around products. Our approach is different in one decisive way: it is led by a neurologist and grounded in how the brain actually ages, fails, and stays resilient.
Neurology Solutions was founded in 2004 by Dr. Robert Izor, MD, MS — a fellowship-trained, board-certified movement-disorders neurologist and neurophysiology expert. Since 2005 he has been involved in more than 400 Deep Brain Stimulation procedures involving over 800 implanted leads, from preoperative targeting and intraoperative neurophysiology through long-term programming. Two decades caring for patients with Parkinson’s disease and other complex neurological conditions has taught us what helps the brain remain resilient, functional, and independent over time — and that is exactly the expertise we bring to healthy aging.
Our Principles
- Physician-led. Your care is directed by a neurologist, not a non-clinical wellness program. Findings are interpreted in clinical context, and your plan stays anchored to your medical history.
- Evidence-informed. We prioritize the factors with the strongest science behind brain aging — cardiovascular and metabolic health, sleep, cognitive engagement, and movement — over trends.
- Neurology-based. We assess and monitor the brain and nervous system directly, drawing on the same subspecialty depth we use for complex neurological disease.
- Focused on independence. The goal is not a score or a supplement regimen. It is protecting the memory, mobility, and vitality that let you live the life you want, for as long as possible.
Who This Is For
Brain health care is not only for people who are already unwell. It is most valuable early. Patients come to us because they are:
Healthy aging adults
Committed to staying mentally sharp and physically capable through your 60s, 70s, and beyond.
Executives & professionals
Who depend on sustained focus, memory, and energy and want their cognitive performance protected deliberately. Executive brain health →
Family history of neurodegeneration
Concerned about inherited risk for Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, or other conditions, and ready to act early. Family history of dementia →
Noticing cognitive changes
Experiencing changes in memory, word-finding, or focus and wanting a neurologist’s assessment. Learn about cognitive & memory concerns.
Focused on metabolic health
Managing weight, blood sugar, or cardiovascular risk — the factors most tightly linked to how the brain ages.
Movement-disorder patients optimizing
Existing patients with Parkinson’s, tremor, or dystonia who want to protect overall brain and body health alongside their treatment.
What We Focus On
Brain health is decided by a handful of systems that either protect the brain or quietly erode it over decades. We assess and support each one as part of a single, physician-directed plan — not a menu of products. Where a specific test or therapy is genuinely useful, we use it; where it is not, we say so.
Cognition & memory
Establishing your baseline and tracking it over time, so subtle change is caught early rather than years later — the heart of cognitive longevity. When symptoms are present, we evaluate them with a neurologist’s diagnostic lens. Cognitive & memory concerns →
Metabolic & cardiovascular health
Blood sugar, insulin resistance, blood pressure, and body composition are among the strongest modifiable influences on brain aging. We measure them directly and address them proactively. Metabolic brain health → · Metabolic enhancement → · Body composition testing →
Sleep & recovery
Sleep is when the brain clears waste and consolidates memory. Disrupted or unrefreshing sleep is both a risk factor for and an early sign of neurological change, so it is a routine part of our assessment. Sleep & brain health →
Nutrition, hormones & the gut-brain axis
Nutrition, hormonal balance, and gut health each influence inflammation and brain function. When the clinical picture warrants a deeper look, targeted tools are available through our functional medicine program — always interpreted by a physician and used selectively, not by default. For a fuller account of fiber, fermentation, and the gut–brain axis, and why sequence matters more than supplements, see our detailed discussion.
Movement & physical resilience
Physical activity and strength are among the best-documented protectors of the aging brain. We build movement into your plan and, where appropriate, use structured programs to support it.
How This Fits Together
You may see several related terms across our site. Here is how they relate:
- Brain Health & Healthy Aging — our proactive, physician-led program for protecting cognition, metabolism, and independence (this page). Healthy aging is the goal; brain health is where a neurologist has the most to offer it.
- Functional Medicine — specific tests and therapies we draw on within that program, selectively and under a physician’s interpretation.
- Membership — how the program is provided: a neurologist decides what to change first, you get the support to actually change it, and we measure whether it worked. Medical care is billed to your insurance separately.
- Conditions We Treat — diagnosis and treatment when there is an active neurological condition.
How Brain Health Care Works Here
1. A comprehensive assessment. We start by understanding you fully — your history, your family history, your goals, and objective measures of how your brain and body are functioning today. This becomes your baseline.
2. A personalized, physician-directed plan. From there, Dr. Izor builds a plan focused on your highest-impact risks and priorities. It is specific, realistic, and grounded in evidence — not a one-size-fits-all protocol.
3. An ongoing partnership. Brain health is a long game. Your baseline is re-measured on a schedule and your course is adjusted as your life and results evolve — longitudinal care, not a one-time workup.
Backed by Real Neurological Authority
The credibility of a brain-health program depends entirely on who is behind it. Neurology Solutions is led by Robert M. Izor, MD, MS — a board-certified neurologist, fellowship-trained in movement disorders and Deep Brain Stimulation, who completed his neurology residency at UT Health Science Center Houston as Chief Resident, holds an MS in Molecular Immunology, is a member of the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society, and is affiliated with St. David’s Medical Center. He founded the first subspecialty movement-disorder clinic in Central Texas in 2004. That is the expertise now working to protect yours.
Already Living With a Neurological Condition?
Brain-health care and treatment for a diagnosed condition are not separate tracks — they reinforce each other. If you or a loved one is managing a movement or neurological disorder, protecting overall brain and body health is part of living well with it. And if you are noticing symptoms but do not yet have answers, helping identify what is going on is part of what we do. Explore the conditions we treat →
Brain Health & Healthy Aging: Common Questions
Do I need a diagnosis or symptoms to start?
No. Much of this work is most valuable before symptoms appear. Healthy adults who simply want to protect their long-term brain health are a core part of who we care for.
How is this different from a wellness clinic or longevity program?
Brain health is, fundamentally, a neurological question — so it should be led by a neurologist. Wellness and longevity programs are often well-intentioned but not physician-directed, and they can’t reliably tell the difference between normal aging and early disease. A neurologist can: we interpret cognitive and metabolic findings in clinical context, order and act on the right testing, recognize red flags a non-clinical program may miss, and keep your plan anchored to your actual medical history — evidence and medical judgment over products and trends.
Can this help if dementia or Parkinson’s runs in my family?
A family history is one of the best reasons to start early. We help you understand your risk factors and act on the ones you can influence, with a neurologist monitoring you over time.
Is brain-health care part of concierge membership?
Yes to both, and they are separate things. Your medical care is billed to your insurance or Medicare in the usual way, and you pay your normal copay or deductible. Membership provides the structured brain-health program: a neurologist deciding which changes matter most for you and which comes first, the support to put them into practice, and the measurement that shows whether they worked — non-covered services that work alongside your medical care. Membership is not insurance and does not replace it. Many members use HSA or FSA funds; check with your plan administrator.
Do you offer care by telehealth?
Yes. We see patients in Austin and provide telehealth neurology care for patients in Texas and Florida.
